The June fields here are a show of pink and green-more so this year because of all the rain. It's a good enough reason to play with rose madder and cadmium yellow light. And, thanks to the rain, the cloud-scapes have been spectacular and ever-changing.

I wish I was as artistically descriptive and intuitive as you are when you critique others work...maybe its because you are an art teacher. All I can say about this painting is that it takes my breath away. You have captured so well the feeling of a lush June. The sky is magnificent. I spent most of today taking out some sod and creating a small garden to try and grow a few tomatoes and salad greens. Probably all in vane because of the gigantic walnut tree that dominates the back yard. None the less, I still feel closer to nature, at one with the earth and this painting :)
ReplyDeleteP.s. thanks for the vote of confidence, re: success at the show.
glad to have found your blog. Your paintings have a rather magical and unique quality to them, very personal. Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteJan this is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAw Catherine again, I so appreciate your kind words and you've given me the ultimate compliment re your association re your garden and nature--thank you
ReplyDeleteAnd Susan thank you for stopping by and wow--I was really jazzed when i read 'magical' associated to my paintings? I've never had anyone use that word and i quite like it--I had a look at your work and feel a little symbiotic--it's so intuitive and from the soul
Morgan--what can I say that hasn't already been said?? Love you!
