Recently we had guests staying over so had to spend some time in my daughter’s old room. I had forgotten how breathtaking the view was from her window, no matter the season. When my guests left and the right days came (yesterday/today) I lugged all of my painting gear upstairs…interesting how inspiration can just come on the fly—but how long has it really been there? It was an insightful state of catharsis to be in as she was everywhere..

Thanks Joan--I might just set up another studio --would love to paint the moon from up here!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful view! Isn't it wonderful to discover something in your own house that brings comfort and renewed inspiration. When my daughter went "tree planting" in British Columbia, I realized I enjoyed being in her room with the large windows looking out to the stream and trees not normally visible behind our house in Dundas. I set up my studio there for awhile.
ReplyDeleteI like the rich autumn colors of this painting, and really enjoyed the "October" painting in the previous post. One can feel the leaves rustling in the constant October breezez.
Is beautiful jan! Love the mood! you brought a fantasy like luminecent glow to the somber october haze...xxx
