I think artistically it works beautifully and that because it comes from within the painter with what looks like very little interfence or space. I like the darkness of your paintings.Sheila Vaughanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11202418013915704272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2219034546317037678.post-30177746503865597462010-09-22T07:48:47.981-07:002010-09-22T07:48:47.981-07:00Thanks all for your comments..I have been reviewin...Thanks all for your comments..I have been reviewing recent work and see that it is quite dark--I just put together (duh)that they are in reflection of what's going on in my life! ( Mom gravely ill)

My larger paintings are not working at all and I've even had to put commissions aside until I'm in a better frame of mind! Art can be therapeutic and hopefully help me get through this awful time-so again, your comments are so appreciated when I'm feeling so low in the artistic scheme of things...Jan Yates, SCAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05507577561489678283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2219034546317037678.post-60560777088698902202010-09-21T18:44:45.137-07:002010-09-21T18:44:45.137-07:00Hi Jan

I've enjoyed looking through the postings I've missed. I think Caroline described this painting very well. The yellows and oranges are there, but I feel that I can see my breath as I walk through the vineyard on a cool morning. This is a great painting. I also enjoyed the Sept painting from 2009...so vibrant and alive. I like the post dominating the foreground, a strong remembrance of times past. The vineyard may be dormant, but life continues to flourish in this field. Love your work!Catherine Jeffreyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05461798205529014264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2219034546317037678.post-29530468124042321582010-09-21T16:35:25.698-07:002010-09-21T16:35:25.698-07:00I agree with the sentiment expressed in your paint...I agree with the sentiment expressed in your painting. But, no matter how we drag our heels, fall is blowing in and will leave the door open for winter. It seems as if the darkness is gently flowing in by the overall dark tones. The central post is interesting to me it suggests we look up to that dark heavy sky that tells us that summer is past and that the long nights and cold days are to visit us soon.Caroline Simmillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09598525698486576546noreply@blogger.com
